Foundations | Grades 5-9

Our CTF program gives students hands-on, project-based learning experiences that build real-world skills. Courses are offered across all grade levels, with programming that grows in depth and specialization from grades 5 through 9.

Grades 5 & 6 offerings

In grades 5 and 6, CTF is delivered through classroom-based instruction by grade team teachers, drawing on their areas of expertise. This program introduces students to a range of disciplines and provides a strong foundation for the specialized CTF courses available in grades 7–9.

  • Art
  • Drama
  • Technology
  • Level-Up
  • Music

There are no additional course fees for CTF in grades 5 & 6. Costs are built into the General Fees that families pay as part of elementary programming.

Grades 7–9 offerings

In grades 7–9, CTF courses are taught by curriculum specialists and offer deeper, more focused learning experiences. Students rank their preferences during the course selection process and are placed in two option courses per semester, subject to scheduling, enrollment, and program availability.

  • Art ~$25 fee
  • Construction ~$40 fee
  • Foods ~$40 fee
  • Band ~$165+ fee
  • Guitar ~$5 fee
  • Design ~$10 fee
  • Drama ~$25 fee
  • Drama – technical theatre ~$25 fee

Course fees

All CTF courses in grades 7–9 carry mandatory fees that help cover the cost of consumable materials, project supplies, and program-specific resources. Fees are listed above as approximate amounts and may vary slightly. They are outlined in the course selection survey sent to families, and by indicating your child's interest in a course, you are acknowledging that associated fees apply. These fees ensure every student has access to the materials and hands-on experiences that make our CTF program meaningful.
