There are many ways you can contribute to our school’s success, and make a difference for our school and our students. In our school, this can include providing in-kind donations, contributing cash and lending expertise and technical knowledge. Connect with our principal on what may be appropriate. Fundraiser: Healthy Hunger
Healthy Hunger is an ongoing fundraiser for our Samuel W. Shaw Fundraising Society (SSFS), organized by our Parent Society. Parents can purchase a special lunch for students and the money raised goes to items or events for the school. If you want to support in making decisions about how to use these funds, please attend any of our School Council Meetings.

Donating to Our School
Ways to give to our school include:
Monetary (cash) Donation
- I wish to receive a tax receipt for my donation. Tax receipts will be issued for donations of $20 or more.
- Visit the EducationMatters online donation webpage to make a donation. (Preferred donation method)
- Write a cheque payable to EducationMatters (all one word) and include the name of our school and the specific program, activity or item you want your donation to support in the 'memo' section. Give the cheque to the school or mail it to: EducationMatters, 1221 8 Street SW Calgary, AB T2R 0L4
- I do not wish to receive a tax receipt for my donation
- Write a cheque made payable to Calgary Board of Education and include the name of our school and the specific program, activity or item you want your donation to support in the 'memo' section. Give the cheque to the school.

Did you know?? Last year, through volunteering and donations, parents helped pay for:

SSFS fundraises to support school needs though various programs and initiatives. Our biggest fundraiser is the casino.
Some might prefer to donate funds directly to the school in lieu of or in addition to the other initiatives. If you would like to donate, we would be extremely grateful! Cash or cheques can be presented at the SWS office. Cheques must be payable to Samuel W. Shaw Fundraising Society. Alternatively, you can donate directly to the school using the Education Matters website. Visit www.educationmatters.ca or click here to go directly to the SWS page. Please note, this is the only method able to issue a tax receipt for your donation.
