A message from CMLSAA (Calgary Middle Level School Athletics Association):

We wanted to provide you with an update regarding the ongoing CUPE labour actions and how they will impact CMLSAA athletics for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year.

Firstly, the Volleyball Season of Play will continue as planned and conclude on Sunday, March 23, 2025

Unfortunately, the Badminton season is postponed until further notice. As a result, there will be no try-outs, practices, games between schools (including exhibition matches), or tournaments at this time. However, schools may still be able to offer badminton as part of their programming or through intramural programs. It's important to note that students participating in these activities cannot be evaluated for the purpose of forming a competitive team. While these limitations are in place, planning meetings for badminton may still continue.

Similarly, the Track & Field season is also postponed until further notice. This means no try-outs, practices, inter-school competitions, or track meets will take place. Like badminton, Track & Field activities may still be included in HPE classes or school-based intramurals. Planning meetings for Track & Field may also continue as scheduled.

We recognize that these changes may be disappointing for students who were looking forward to participating in these activities. Our priority remains creating positive opportunities for students to stay active and engaged, even within these constraints.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we navigate these circumstances. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out.
