Sam Shaw – Parent Message
Good morning and Happy Tuesday to our Shaw families. We hope this finds you well as we head into December. We want to thank all the parents that were able to attend our conferences a few weeks ago. We can share that these connections and conversations do have an impact. If you were not able to attend, we would encourage you to reach out to your student's teachers at any time to connect and inquire about progress so far.
We want to share our gratitude to our community and celebrate the success we had in the Hot Chocolate sales the student leadership team put together. This was a fundraiser for a senior that we adopted. The students raised so much that we were able to adopt 4 more seniors. Our grade 9 students will be heading over to the center next week to present them with their gifts and spend some time connecting over there. We are very proud of this initiative and congratulate our grade 9 leadership students for their efforts and connections.
Thius week we are pleased to announce that we have hired 4 additional Education Assistants to support students in their learning. We are excited about this additional support that is in place for the remainder of the year. Mrs. Sheldrick, our Student Services Learning Leader will be working with teachers and the EA’s this Friday to create a schedule and what that support will look like for our students here.
We have had some staffing pieces lately that have impacted the school. We are doing our best to address these so there is the least amount of disruption to the learning as possible. Mrs. Lomas / Mrs. Hockey have had to step away for a few weeks to look after themselves. We wish them all the best.
Just a reminder that we have our next Healthy Hunger coming up December 21st. Orders close on December 14th.
