I would like to take a moment to share my gratitude and appreciation following the incredible success of our recent school musical, Something Rotten!
Productions like this are far more than a performance—they are a reflection of what is possible when students and staff come together through our complementary programs. At the middle school level, these opportunities are essential. They allow students to explore their interests, build confidence, and discover where they shine. Whether working in drama, art, construction, or music, students are contributing in meaningful ways that strengthen the fabric of our learning community.
This production was a true example of connection, collaboration, and creativity in action. From building and painting sets, to rehearsing lines and musical pieces, to stepping onto the stage in front of a live audience—our students demonstrated courage, commitment, and pride in their work. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them.
I would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff who supported this production:
Thank you to Michele Martyn, our director, for your leadership, vision, and dedication to our drama program. Your passion for the arts continues to create meaningful opportunities for our students.
Thank you to Janay Lomas for your artistic talent and creative vision in bringing the sets and visuals to life.
Thank you to Mike Hilton for your work in construction, building the sets that quite literally created the stage for our students to shine.
Thank you to Neely Jorgenson for your support with rehearsals and your work helping to paint and prepare the sets.
Thank you to Mike MacKenzie for your work in setting up the stage and ensuring everything came together so seamlessly.
And thank you to Karla Smith for supporting our students with vocal coaching and helping bring strength and confidence to their musical performances.
Finally, thank you to our families for your ongoing support. Whether it was helping students prepare at home, attending performances, or encouraging participation, your partnership plays a vital role in creating these opportunities for our students.
We are so proud of what our students and staff accomplished together. This musical is a wonderful reminder of the power of community and the importance of creating spaces where all students can belong, contribute, and thrive.
Thank you for being such an important part of our Storm community.
