Important Information

  1. Winter Market- did you know this event is a fundraiser for the school?  Come shop at the market and support SWS! Winter Market
  2. School Fees- please check PowerSchool for any outstanding school fees.  If your child has already been on a field trip or band retreat this year, please make sure that you’ve paid the fees. Don’t forget to pay for any complimentary courses that your child is enrolled in, as well as noon supervision fees (grade 5 and 6).
  3. Lately, we’ve had enough food deliveries to qualify the school for its own restaurant license. As much as we admire the creativity, please don’t send DoorDash or Skip orders for students during the school day.
  4. Winter has officially arrived—surprise!  Please make sure your child has the warm clothes they need for gym and lunch outdoors. Ask them what they’re wearing—some seem to think shorts and a hoodie are a valid strategy. Fun fact- Crocs and socks are not winter boots.
  5. Relaxed entry starts at 8:45am- students should not be arriving too long before the doors open.
  6. Cell Phone Reminder: The Government of Alberta requires that all students in Grades K–9 keep their cell phones put away for the entire school day. Students may not use their phones at school for any reason, including texting home. If a student needs to contact you, they are welcome to call from the office.
  7. All cell phones must stay in lockers and be turned off or on silent from the moment students enter the building until dismissal. If you need to reach your child during the day, please call the school office and we will gladly help.
  8. Reminder: Storm Store is only selling grab and go snacks until Dec 19.  Hot or warm lunch options will return in January. Hot water will still be available for soup.
