Important Information

Thank You

Thank you for attending our Open House last night! It’s always wonderful to connect with families and to see the pride on the faces of our students showing off their school whenever they can. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedules to join us.

Fire Drill

We held our first fire drill of the year. Today’s drill was very successful- 900 students and staff were able to exit the building in under 2 minutes! CBE requires that schools hold 6 fire drills during the year...one down, five more to go!

#WhyYouMatter Project

Ask your child(ren) about our school wide #WhyYouMatter project!

Purses and Backpacks

This is a reminder that students are not allowed to carry crossbody bags, purses, or backpacks during the day. All “bags” are required to be always stored in lockers.

Mobile Devices

Please take a moment to review the Away for the Day personal mobile device policy and have a discussion with your child(ren). Teachers and administration have already given several first and second warnings to many students.

Breakfast Program

Thanks to the generosity of our School Council, we continue to offer a breakfast program for kids who need it. Grab ‘n’ Go breakfast items are available in the Storm Store to help fill empty tummies during relaxed entry. Every day this week the breakfast program has run out of food. We have been swarmed with students all vying for any crumb of food, with a significant number from our grade 5 and 6 students. While we would never want to turn away a child who needs to access the program, there is some question of the "need" part. Please remind your child(ren) that the program is for students in need, who are unable to have a healthy breakfast at home. This program is not for a second breakfast or to grab a snack for later.

Scholastic Book Fair Information

We’re excited to be hosting our first Scholastic Book Fair from September 22–26! To make this event a success, we’re looking for parent volunteers to help during the afternoons from 12:00–3:15 pm. If you’re available for a shift (or two!), your support would be greatly appreciated. Please contact Jackie at jabouchard@cbe.ab.ca to sign up
