If you are able to contribute, please drop off supplies to the office before Friday, May 29th. We appreciate your support and look forward to learning more about your children. Janelle Berry jjberry@cbe.ab.ca Grade 7 Humanities, Grade 8 ELA , Grade 7 Learning Leader Message from the PE Team Our new Physical Education unit will be Track and Field. As we begin spending more time outdoors, we would like to remind students and families of the expectations and items needed to help students be successful and safe during class. Students are expected to have athletic footwear for every PE class. Proper running shoes are important for safety and participation in track and field activities. We do have a loaner bin available for students who may occasionally forget their shoes. As we will be outside for class, students should also come prepared with:
Please note that students will not be coming back inside for drinks during class time, so having a water bottle ready is very important. If your child currently has an injury or medical concern, we are able to modify events and activities to help support safe participation in class. Please feel free to communicate any concerns or updated information with your child's PE teacher. Ensuring that students arrive prepared with all required items helps them participate safely and successfully in our activities. Thank you for your support. Sincerely, Spring Forward Running Club (May 19 - June 18) GRADES 5-9! Paul Bjartveit and Nicole Lamoureux We’re excited to announce that Samuel W. Shaw will be starting a Spring running club on May 19th. This club is designed to help students build healthy fitness habits through consistent, low-pressure training. Cardio-vascular training benefits a variety of athletic pursuits and provides students with the opportunity to increase their endurance, overall fitness, and long-term health. Club members will learn how their bodies respond to exercise, including how to safely monitor their heart rates, pace themselves effectively, and track their progress. This club is open to all students Grades 5–9 and will run on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 8:15am. We ask that students arrive on time at the Gathering space doors, ready to begin. If your child chooses to join us, please ensure they come prepared with appropriate running shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, and a water bottle so they can participate comfortably and safely in all activities. Looking to the future:
