Homeroom Conversations Today during homeroom, many classes reviewed the following three questions: 1. What does the condition of our school communicate about how we value ourselves and one another? 2. What is one small action you can take today that will make our school better for someone else? 3. If everyone treated our school the way you do, what kind of school would we have? A message from administration was also shared with students to help support the conversation about how learning spaces are being treated. Dear students, At Samuel W. Shaw, we talk a lot about what it means to matter. Mattering means knowing that you are valued, but it also means understanding that you have value to contribute. Every one of you has an opportunity to make our school a better place simply through the way you treat it. When you leave a bathroom clean, pick up something that isn't yours, respect our furniture, or speak up when someone is damaging our school, you are showing that you care about the people around you. Our school belongs to all of us. And when we take care of the spaces we share, we are really taking care of one another. You matter. Your actions matter. And the way you treat our school matters. Mrs. Kivi, Ms. Kerry, Mrs. Wolframe Please feel free to have a follow up conversation with your child(ren) about their homeroom conversations from today. Student Spectators Students are allowed to stay and cheer on their home teams. On hosting nights when several games are played, students can only stay for the first game. For the remaining games, students must have an adult that supervises them. Students are also asked to remain in the gym at all times as wandering around the school is not prohibited. Administration will ask students to leave if they are not supervised by an adult. These rules also apply to students visiting other schools. Yearbooks! Yearbooks are on sale now at an EARLY BIRD rate of $35! Purchase online now to reserve your copy! Be sure to include your child's homeroom teacher in the order form. Mark your Calendars!
