That’s a wrap for the 2025-26 school year!
It was a whirlwind of a final week at Samuel W. Shaw! The building has been filled with celebration, laughter, hugs, happy tears, and just enough organized chaos to remind us that summer is finally here.
The Grade 9 Farewell was a fantastic evening filled with celebration, dancing, laughter, and approximately one million photos! Beyond the fun, our students left a lasting impression on the staff at Heritage Park. They told us that our Grade 9s were the kindest and most respectful group they have hosted in more than 200 school visits. What an incredible compliment—and one we can all be proud of.
Sports Day was once again a highlight of the final week of school and a cherished Samuel W. Shaw tradition. It provided students with one last chance to connect, laugh, and celebrate with their homeroom classmates before the school year came to a close. The water fight station remained the undisputed favourite, while the Chill Zone, complete with freezies courtesy of School Council, was the perfect place to beat the heat and enjoy a well-earned break.
The halls and pods have been buzzing with students signing yearbooks, sharing messages of friendship, gratitude, farewells, and hopes for a fantastic summer. Lockers have been emptied, locks collected, and countless bags of projects, notebooks, and memories have been packed up to head home. These familiar traditions signal that the final chapter of another incredible school year is coming to a close.
As we reflect on the past ten months, we are filled with gratitude. Our students have learned, grown, challenged themselves, supported one another, and created countless memories along the way. None of that happens without the partnership of our families and the unwavering dedication of our incredible staff. Thank you for the trust, encouragement, and support you've shown throughout the year. Together, we've made Samuel W. Shaw a place where students feel they belong, are challenged to grow, and are celebrated for who they are.
